Overview
In summer of 2019, I was one of 25 Duke students selected to participate in the Code<+> Program, a 10 week summer internship at DukeOIT.
My team's project was a prototype network security device built on a RaspberryPi, which we named the Guardian Devil. Our final product had a wide array of features configurable using a web UI. My core achievement was the design and implementation of the homepage.

My Contributions
I spearheaded the front-end development of this prototype, both its design and implementation. This was ambitious considering I had neither classroom nor practical experience with web design.

My team's mentors were security experts, so most of my learning was self-guided. In 10 weeks, I taught myself enough HTML, CSS, and Javascript to implement the homepage design in the demo. This was in addition to working on the core security functions required by our stakeholders.
The Outcome
Our project was a full success, and was among 2 our of the 8 projects that year selected to present to Duke's IT Advisory Board.

We also demo'd the prototype for an open house at the end of the Code<+> program, and I designed my team's accompanying poster.
