Overview
In college I played Quidditch, a team sport based on the fictional sport from the Harry Potter book series.
Given the niche nature of the sport, it was historically a challenge to find enough players to participate. I was placed in charge of recruitment for the team in Fall 2019, and I designed a campaign to get as many people playing Quidditch as possible.
I created all our visual material, developed an overall strategy, and organized the people executing the plan.

Strategies
The core of recruitment was using the tried-and-true tactics of flyers and tabling. I created a flyer that I had the team pin to every bulletin board on campus we could find. I also organized shifts for to sit at a table by the freshman dining hall to hand out more flyers and talk to anyone interested.

Concurrently, I made memes and humorous posts that I shared in campus social media groups. These were goofy and topical, designed to spread awareness and positive sentiment towards the Quidditch team.
The Outcome
Duke University Quidditch had the largest ever group of students join in Fall of 2019.

Later, I adapted a hand-painted poster made for tabling into a proper design for a vinyl flag. This became the team's official flag that we'd take to competitions to hang by the fields we played on.
