The Interplanetary Trail was the final project for my Fundamentals of Web Based Communication course at Duke University. The goal of the project was to demonstrate the web design principles, tools, and skills learned over the course of a semester.
​
I chose to create a parody of The Oregon Trail that followed a family on their perilous journey from Earth to Mars.
The Outcome
Much of the work for my project went into the scripting of the gameplay. My game keeps track of multiple resources, randomizes encounters, responds to user choice, and dynamically updates the webpage accordingly.
​
My work received an "A" grade, and (most importantly) I had a great time making it.
